The process and places of manufacture of the Medieval firearms on the territory of contemporary Poland.

Późne średniowiecze było okresem w którym została wprowadzona i upowszechniona broń palna. Na terenach dzisiejszej Polski wydzielić można 3 okresy tego procesu: pojawienia się pierwszych miejsc produkcji (XIV w.), bardzo dużego wzrostu liczby ośrodków (1. poł. XV w.), stabilizacji ilości miejsc produkcji i rozwój gałęzi pokrewnych, jak miejsca produkcji prochu (2. poł. XV – pocz. XVI w.). W świetle najnowszych ustaleń i przy znacznym poszerzeniu bazy źródłowej wymagane jest ujednolicenie dotychczasowej terminologii która powinna być zgodna z bronioznawstwem młodszych epok.

The Late Medieval Age was the period of time when firearms were firstly introduced and then proliferated. On the territory of nowadays’ Poland we can point out three periods of that process: the appearance of first places of firearms production (14th century), the great increase in number of these spots (first half of 15th century), stabilization of the quantity of the production places and the development of the adjacent braches like e.g. the places of gunpowder production (second half of 15th century and the beginning of 16th century). With the newest arrangements and due to the great enlargement of the source database occurs the task of very high importance that is to harmonize all the previous terminology that must be in tune with the study of weaponry from the younger epochs.
