Celem pracy jest analiza wpływu rozwoju serii Wiedźmin bazującej na serii książek fantasy o tym samym tytule autorstwa Andrzeja Sapkowskiego na strategie przekładu ballad wykonywanych przez literacką postać barda Jaskra na przestrzeni różnych mediów oraz dla zróżnicowanych grup docelowych odbiorców, z perspektywy narracji transmedialnej. W pracy przeanalizowane zostały teksty autorstwa samego Sapkowskiego, jak i ich przekłady na potrzeby gry oraz literatury, a także serialowa adaptacja internetowego serwisu Neftlix na licencji Wiedźmina. Główną ideą przeprowadzonego badania jest określenie, jaki wpływ mają określone media na sposób przekładu. Punktem odniesienia podczas analizy jest pojęcie znanego w świecie tłumaczeń pięcioboju Petera Lowa. W badaniach wykazano tendencję do szczególnej troski tłumaczy o sens utworu w przypadku przekładu literackiego, która zanika w przypadku przekładu na potrzeby popularnej gry i popularnego serialu, gdzie uwaga tłumacza kieruje się w stronę śpiewalności (ang. singability).

The Evolution of The Witcher Saga: Strategies in the Translation of Dandelion's Ballads across Different MediaThe aim of this thesis is to analyse The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski, as well as its adaptations, from the point of view of translation strategies. The main focus of the analysis are the ballads performed by Dandelion, one of the literary characters and a bard, as they are presented in different kinds of media, and for diverse target audiences through transmedia storytelling. Within the constraints of this thesis, Sapkowski’s own texts alongside their literary and game-related translations are analysed. Textual adaptations of Dandelion’s ballads as they are presented on the Netflix streaming platform TV series are also evaluated. The main idea of the conducted research is to establish what influence certain media have on the method of translation. The theoretical point of reference of this analysis is Peter Low’s concept of Pentathlon in translation, which is very well-known in the world of translation. As a result of the conducted research, it was established that literary translations are focused on sense, while the target of popular game-related and Internet series-related translations is singability.
