Comparing artillery reforms of Władysław IV and Gustavus Adolphus

Przeprowadzenie reform wojskowych w zakresie artylerii miało na celu wzmocnienie obronności kraju oraz przygotowanie go do podjęcia ofensywy w celu uzyskania pewnych korzyści. Sytuacja ta odnosiła się zarówno do Polski jak i Szwecji, które swoje reformy przeprowadziły w 1. poł. XVII wieku. Celem tej pracy jest przedstawienie nie tylko samych reform, ale także ich przyczyn oraz efektów. Najważniejsza zaś jest próba porównania obydwu reform, znalezienia różnic i podobieństw między nimi. Opis początków artylerii i jej stałego rozwoju, ma na celu zaprezentować, jakim osiągnięciem były owe reformy i jaki skok technologiczny został wykonany dzięki ich przeprowadzeniu.

To carry out of military reform in the field of artillery was to strengthen national defence and to prepare it to take the offensive in order to obtain certain benefits. This situation is related to both the Poland and Sweden, that his reform carried out in the firts half the 17th century. The aim of this work is to present not only reform themselves but also their causes and effects. The most important is the attempt to compare the both reforms, finding similarities and differences between them. Description of the origins of the artillery and its sustainable development aims to present what accomplishment were those reforms and what technological leap was made thanks to their completion.
