Cybersecurity as a threat of the 21st century in Poland

Tematem mojej pracy jest przedstawienie cyberprzestępczości jako zagrożenie XXI wieku. W dzisiejszych czasach intensywnie rozwijają się technologie informatyczne, rośnie także liczba użytkowników Internetu. Zjawiska te przyczyniają się do intensyfikacji cyberprzestępstw, szczególnie takich jak cyberterroryzm, cyberinwigilacja i cyberprzemoc. Celem pracy jest wyjaśnienie podstawowych pojęć związanych z cyberbezpieczeństwem i cyberprzestrzenią oraz przestawienie genezy tych zjawisk, która ściśle wiąże się z rozpowszechnionym dostępem do sieci. Wyszczególnione zostały także podstawowe kategorie cyberprzestępstw oraz ich rozwój na przestrzeni ostatnich lat. Przedstawione zostały metody zwalczania cyberzagrożeń oraz czynności podejmowane w celu poprawienia bezpieczeństwa w cyberprzestrzeni i zminimalizowania ryzyka wystąpienia cyberprzestępstw. Analiza tematu pozwoli na ocenę skali zjawiska zarówno w Polsce jak i na świecie. Opisane zostały najważniejsze przypadki cyberterroryzmu oraz ich skutki dla państwa. W pracy podjęta została również analiza podstawowych aktów prawnych, które regulują zjawisko cyberbezpieczeństwa zarówno na skalę globalną jak i lokalnie przez mniejsze jednostki samorządowe.

The subject of my work is to present cybercrime as a threat of the 21st century. Nowadays, information technology is developing intensively, and the number of Internet users is also growing. These phenomena contribute to the intensification of cybercrimes, especially such as cyberterrorism, cybersurveillance and cyberbullying. The aim of the work is to explain the basic concepts related to cybersecurity and cyberspace and to present the genesis of these phenomena, which is closely related to the widespread access to the network. The basic categories of cybercrimes and their development in recent years are also listed. Methods of combating cyber threats and actions taken to improve security in cyberspace and minimize the risk of cybercrime were presented. The analysis of the topic will allow to assess the scale of the phenomenon both in Poland and in the world. The most important cases of cyberterrorism and their consequences for the state were described. The work also analyzes the basic legal acts that regulate the phenomenon of cybersecurity both on a global scale and locally by smaller local government units.
