The psychological impact on life satisfaction of the Adult Children of Alcoholics

Niniejsza praca koncentruje się wokół tematu psychologicznych uwarunkowań satysfakcji z życia wśród Dorosłych Dzieci Alkoholików. W związku z tym, w badaniu pojawiają się także takie zmienne jak: prężność, koherencja, strategie radzenia sobie ze stresem, mechanizmy obronne oraz wzór zachowania (osobowości) typu C.Celem badania było wyznaczenie poziomu satysfakcji z życia DDA, ich zasobów radzenia sobie ze stresem, stylów obronnych oraz sprawdzenie, czy wśród tych osób występuje wzór zachowania C. Cel badań obejmuje również sprawdzenie zależności między poziomem posiadanych zasobów, stylów obronnych i osobowością typu C a poziomem satysfakcją z życia.Grupę badaną stanowiło 70 kobiet w wieku od 25 do 40 lat. W skład osób badanych wchodzi 35 kobiet będących Dorosłymi Dziećmi Alkoholików oraz 35 kobiet niewychowujących się w rodzinie z problemem alkoholowym. W badaniu zostały zastosowane następujące kwestionariusze samoopisowe: Skala Satysfakcji z Życia, narzędzie własne mierzące poziom satysfakcji z życia, Inwentarz do Pomiaru Strategii Radzenie Sobie ze Stresem (Mini–COPE), Kwestionariusz Orientacji Życiowej (SOC-29), Skala Pomiaru Prężności (SPP–25), TCP Test sprawdzający występowanie wzoru zachowania typu C oraz Kwestionariusz DSQ 40 do badania mechanizmów obronnych.W badaniu udało się potwierdzić większość z postawionych hipotez, w tym hipotez dotyczących różnic międzygrupowych w zakresie poziomu: satysfakcji z życia, zasobów, stosowanych mechanizmów obronnych i strategii radzenia sobie ze stresem oraz występowania wzoru zachowania typu C a także wpływu tych czynników na poziom satysfakcji z życia wśród osób badanych.

This thesis fucuses on psychological condicions of life satisfaction amongst the Adolt Children of Alcoholics. Therefore, in the research will appear concepts such as: resilience, coherence, strategies of coping with stress, defence mechanisms and type C behaviour pattern. The aim of the research was to indicate the rate of life satisfaccion of ACA, their resources of coping with stress, their styles of denence and to check if amongs them appears the type C behaviour pattern. Also, the aim of the research is to check relationship between the level of owned resources and defence styles as well as type C behaviour pattern and the rate of life satisfaction. The study included 70 women aged from 24 to 40 years, of which 35 were Adolt Children of Alcoholics and the other 35 did not grow up in a family with alkohol problems. In the research were used the following self-descripcion questionaries: The Satisfaction with Life Scale, the own tool which measures the rate of life satisfaction, Inventory for Measuring the Strategies of Coping (mini COPE), Life Orientation Questionnarie (SOC-29) Resilience Measuring Scale (SPP-25), TCP - Test for the presence of Type C Behaviour Pattern and The Questionarrie DSQ 40 for the research of defence mechanizms. The study confimred most of the hipotheses including those related to the intergroup differences in the level of life satisfaction resources, defence mechanisms, strategies of coping with stress and the presence of Type C behaviour pattern and also the impact of these factors on the rate of life satisfaction among the researched group.
