Szczególna uwaga została poświęcona opisowi rozwoju dzieci z tym zaburzeniem w sferze emocjonalnej i społecznej, a także sposobom wspierania dziecka autystycznego w tych obszarach. Pracę rozpoczyna wstęp. Zasadnicza część została podzielona na cztery rozdziały. Pierwszy z nich odnosi się do charakterystyki pojęcia, przyczyn i diagnozy autyzmu. Drugi rozdział opisuje rozwój emocjonalny dziecka z tą niepełnosprawnością. W trzecim rozdziale przedstawiono analizę różnorodnych przejawów rozwoju społecznego dzieci autystycznych, w tym nawiązywania przez nich interakcji z innymi ludźmi. Ostatni rozdział poświęcono formom pomagania dzieciom z autyzmem poprzez różnego rodzaju terapie wspomagające. Pracę zakończono podsumowaniem, zawierającym wnioski, które dotyczą rozwoju dzieci autystycznych i różnorodnych sposobów wspomagania tegoż rozwoju. Podsumowanie obejmuje także opis istniejących przedsięwzięć o zasięgu krajowym i światowym, w zakresie poszerzania świadomości społeczeństwa na temat tego problemu.

SummaryEmotional and social development of a child with autismThis paper aims to describe the essence of functioning of children with autism. Particular attention has been devoted to the description of the emotional and social development of children with this disorder, as well as ways to support an autistic child in these areas. The first part of paper is introduction. The main part is divided into four chapters. The first one relates to the nature of the concept, causes and diagnosis of autism. The second chapter describes the emotional development of the child with this disability. The third chapter provides an analysis of various forms of social development of autistic children, including establishing their interaction with other people. The last chapter is devoted to forms of helping children with autism through various supportive therapies. The last part is the summation, containing proposals for the development of children with autism and different ways to support this development. The summation includes as well description of existing projects on a national and global level, in terms of broadening public awareness of this problem.
