Abstract in English
In 2023, a new book by Professor Waldemar Łazuga titled Entangled in the Past was published. This article is a result of reflections and conclusions drawn from reading this work, especially in the context of the issues of myths that Łazuga also addresses on the pages of his study - myths related to the Habsburgs, Austria, Galicia, Vienna, Cracow and Lviv. Furthermore, the text attempts - in a broader context - to answer the question of the meaning and role of myths in history, taking the main themes of Waldemar Łazuga’s book as a starting point.
