Ankietowani gracze wyrazili negatywny stosunek do treści pornograficznych umieszczanych w marketingu gier wideo.
The subject of the study is pornographic content found in video game marketing and its reception by youth. The aim of the study is to find out what Polish youth between the ages of 18 and 25 think about the sexualised content in video game marketing. The paper focuses on presenting the history of video games and the marketing activities that have popularised this form of entertainment, as well as on specific cases that have significantly influenced the public discussion about the use of a sexualised, female image in video game marketing (Tomb Raider, Overwatch). The topic of fan work related to video games and how fandom pornographic content can change perceptions of the video game product and the characters within it is also addressed. The author presents a negative image of the actions taken by development studios. The sources used are mainly from the Internet, where the video game community gathers. This makes it easier to understand the perspective of gamers, who are the main target of video game marketing activities. 100% of the respondents encountered similar content, both in dedicated and public spaces. The surveyed gamers expressed a negative attitude towards pornographic content placed in video game marketing.
