Implications of digital technologies for warehousing processes

AbstraktW tekście poruszane są najczęściej występujące problemy związane z procesem magazynowania. Praca omawia w przybliżeniu podział magazynów według funkcji, jakie mają spełniać oraz opisuje cykl procesów wchodzących w skład codziennej pracy magazyniera. Kolejnym omawianym punktem są wybrane metody zarządzania, jakie można wykorzystać do poprawienia funkcjonalności gospodarki magazynowej. Po wstępnej analizie do rozwiązania przykładowych problemów wykorzystano cykl Deminga (Plan-Do-Check-Act) podparty założeniami omawianych w drugim rozdziale metod. Efektem były odpowiedzi na pytania „co jest źródłem problemu” oraz ”jak sobie z nim poradzić” co w następstwie implikuje dalszy kurs działań. W przypadku zarządzania gospodarką magazynową wyniki badań dają się uogólnić. Głównym założeniem pracy jest wprowadzenie czytelnika w wykorzystywane dziś technologie cyfrowe oraz wyjaśnienie na przykładach, jak w oparciu o konkretne metody można wdrożyć poszczególne systemy lub urządzenia, by polepszyć jakość pracy na sprawowanym stanowisku i osiągnąć zamierzone efekty.

AbstractThe text deals with the most common problems related to the storage process. The work approximately discusses the division of warehouses according to the functions they are to fulfill and describes the cycle of processes included in the daily work of a warehouseman. Another point discussed are selected management methods that can be used to improve the functionality of warehouse management. After the initial analysis, the Deming cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act) was used to solve the exemplary problems, supported by the assumptions of the methods discussed in the second chapter. The result were answers to the questions “what is the source of the problem” and “how to deal with it”, which in turn implies a further course of action. In the case of warehouse management, the research results can be generalized. The main assumption of the work is to introduce the reader to the digital technologies used today and to explain with examples how, based on specific methods, individual systems or devices can be implemented to improve the quality of work in the position held and achieve the intended results.
