Suicides in modern Japan, an attempt to comprehend the phenomenon in historical context

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza problemu samobójstw występującego współcześnie w Japonii oraz wykazanie, w jakim stopniu mają one związek z uwarunkowaniami kulturowymi tego kraju. Poruszana problematyka dotyczy samobójstw zarówno wśród dorosłych, jak i dzieci i młodzieży, oraz metod zapobiegania takim tragediom. Rozdziały zawierają kolejno: kontekst historyczny, informacje o samobójstwach w obecnych czasach oraz wnioski końcowe.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the contemporary problem of suicides in Japan, as well as presenting, to what extend Japanese cultural background influences this phenomenon. The tackled topic delves into matters such as suicides of adults, teenagers and children and includes nowadays methods of averting such tragedies. The chapters contain as follows: historical context, information about present suicides and conclusions.
