The journey in time and space in seraching of the meaning of life - comparision studies of The Tragedy of Men by Imre Madách and Faust by Johann Wolfgang Goethe

Niniejsza praca stanowi studium porównawcze Tragedii człowieka Imre Madácha i Fausta Johanna Wolfganga Goethego. Oba te dramaty przedstawiają filozoficzne aspekty życia człowieka na tle wędrówki głównych bohaterów przez czas i przestrzeń. Mimo wyraźnych podobieństw między Tragedią... i Faustem, utwory pozostają wobec siebie niezależne. Autorzy podejmują podobne tematy, jednak w indywidualny dla każdego z nich sposób. Kolejne rozdziały tej pracy zawierają analizę i porównanie najważniejszych aspektów, postaci i wątków obydwu utworów, pozwalając w wyraźny sposób dostrzec podobieństwa i różnice między tymi dramatami.

This work is a comparative study of Imre Madách’s The Tragedy of Men and Johann Wolfgang Goethe’s Faust. Both of these dramas dill with the philosophical aspects of human’s life, pictured in the main characters’ journey through the time and space. Although there are some obvious smillarities between The Tragedy... and Faust, the dramas still remain undependent form each other. In their works the authors dill with simillar problems but in their own individual way. The following work includes the analysis and comparation of the main aspects, characters and threads of the dramas, which allows the reader to see the simillarities as well as diferences between these works more clearly.
