Wpływ zarządzania na rozwój terytorialny małych jak i większych gmin jednakowo ukazuje ich działalność i ukształtowanie. Dzięki temu dostrzegamy różnice w rozwoju gmin. Sposób kierowania jednostkami samorządów terytorialnych oraz osiągane przez nie cele skłaniają do zastanowienia się jak proces zarządzania zmienia aktualny obraz wielu zadań, projektów i inwestycji na terenach badanych.Niniejsza praca skupia się na kilku ważnych aspektach bez których zarządzanie gminą nie byłoby dosyć zrozumiałe. Zawarty w pracy opis formowania się i pracy samorządu terytorialnego pozwala na podstawowe zrozumienie jak wiele należy rozumieć aby kierować jednostkami samorządu terytorialnego. Dodatkowo w pracy zawarto rozważania na temat procesu zarządzania, pojęcia rozwoju i zarządzania rozwojem. Krótka analiza przytoczonych pojęć i zagadnień skłoniła do pogłębienia rozważań o wpływie zarządzania na rozwój terytorialny na przykładzie Wieliczki. Dzięki charakterystyce gminy, zapoznaniu się ze strategią działań na lata 2015-2022 praca stała się kompletna i uzyskała praktyczny wymiar.Celem pracy było ukazanie jak istotnie zarządzanie wpływa na rozwój terytorialny. Niewątpliwie jest to jedna z bardziej nurtujących kwestii dla kierujących jednostkami samorządu terytorialnego. Dlatego, w celu uzyskania szczegółowych informacji w ramach badania został przeprowadzony wywiad z Burmistrzem Wieliczki – Arturem Koziołem. Jego zdanie na temat zarządzania i zadań wykonywanych na terenie gminy, udowodniło, że odpowiedni sposób wykonywania władzy owocuje w przyszłości. Skłania to do refleksji, że wiele zależy od ludzi, którzy stoją na straży rozwoju gmin i sposobu zarządzania rozwojem.

The influence of management on the territorial development of small and larger communes shows their activity and formation. Thanks to this, we can see differences in the development of communes. The management of local territorial government units and their achieved goals prompts them to reflect on how the management process changes the current picture of many tasks, projects and investments in the surveyed areas.This elaboration focuses on several important aspects without which management of the commune would not be quite understandable. The description of the formation and work of local government in the elaboration allows for gain a basic knowledge how much to understand in order to direct the units of local government. In addition, the elaboration includes reflections on the management process, concepts of development and development management. A brief analysis of the above-mentioned concepts and issues prompted the discussion of the influence of management on territorial development on the example of Wieliczka. Thanks to the characteristics of the commune, getting acquainted with the strategy for 2015-2022 the elaboration became complete and got a practical dimension.The purpose of the elaboration was to show how management significantly influences territorial development. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most pressing issues for heads of local government units. Therefore, in order to obtain detailed information in the study, an interview was conducted with Mayor of Wieliczka - Artur Kozioł. His opinion on the management and tasks performed in the commune proved that the proper way of exercising authority results in the future. This prompts the reflection that much depends on the people who are guarding the development of communes and the way of managing development.
