In my thesis entitled ,,Coping strategies after the death of a child and their relation with parents' decisions about having another child'', I focused on presenting the most important supportive strategies following a loss and their relationship with decisions about having another child. I also addressed other significant issues such as going through the stages of grief, manifestations of continuing bonds and factors supporting the decision- making process. The aim of analyzing the statements of psychologists and psychotherapists specializing in working with bereaved parents, gathered during the research process, was to answer the main research question: ,,How are coping strategies after the death of a child related to a decisions about subsequent parenthood?’’. The research group consisted of 7 psychologists and 3 psychotherapists. The diagnostic survey method and the interview technique were used to conduct the research. The research tool- an interview questionnaire- included questions on topics such as grief, continuing bonds after loss, commonly used coping strategies, factors influencing decision-making process regarding the next child, time allocated to grief work, and re-parenting after the death of a child. According to the research findings, in the most cases, the coping strategies employed by bereaved parents are related to the desire to have another child after experiencing loss. A supporting factor in this correlation is going through all the stages of grief, coming to terms with difficult emotions and being open to available forms of support. The conclusions can serve as valuable source of knowledge for psychologists and psychotherapists, as well as parents who have experienced or are currently experiencing such a tragedy.pl
W mojej pracy dyplomowej pt.
