Jacek Dukaj as a creator of science fiction literature

Wstęp pracy zawiera definicje podstawowych dla rozumienia tematu pojęć, jakimi są fantastyka, fantasy i science fiction. Jego główną częścią jest prezentacja najważniejszych – zdaniem Jacka Dukaja – elementów dzieła science fiction, decydujących o jego walorach. Kolejne części pracy zawierają analizę trzech wybranych opowiadań Jacka Dukaja: „Irrehaare”, „Przyjaciela prawdy. Dialogu idei” oraz „Ziemi Chrystusa”. Głównym jej celem jest sprawdzenie funkcjonalności proponowanych postulatów w poszczególnych tekstach. Zakończenie ukazuje wady i zalety dzieł powstających zgodnie z koncepcją pisarza.

The introduction defines some basic expressions important for understanding the topic of this thesis. These expressions are fantasy and science fiction. The main body of the thesis is a presentation of the most important – for Jacek Dukaj – elements of science fiction literature which decides of the values of a book. Next parts and chapters include the analysis of three chosen novels written by Jacek Dukaj – these are: „Irrehaare”, „Przyjaciel prawdy. Dialog idei” and „Ziemia Chrystusa”. The main purpose of these reviews is to check whether the postulates are functional. In the résumé there are shown some advantages and drawbacks of the novels created according to the conception of Jacek Dukaj.
