Developing key competences through theater workshops on the example of the Groteska Theater. Case study of theater education with recommendation

Praca dotyczy warsztatów teatralnych organizowanych w Teatrze Groteska. Jest to studium przypadku jednej z form działań z zakresu edukacji teatralnej. W części teoretycznej opisane zostały konteksty definicyjne pedagogiki teatru, tj. edukacja kulturalna, edukacja kulturowa, pedagogika kultury. Omówiono też liczne kompetencje, postawy i cechy, które rozwijane są poprzez uczestnictwo w zajęciach teatralnych. W dalszej części została przedstawiona instytucja Teatru Groteska. Badania mają na celu znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jakim stopniu warsztaty teatralne w niej organizowane mogą przyczyniać się do rozwijania kompetencji kluczowych u dzieci. Przeprowadzono wywiady z nauczycielami, którzy razem z uczniami uczestniczyli w warsztatach. Zostały zrealizowane także dwie obserwacje zajęć teatralnych. W oparciu o wyciągnięte wnioski, powstał autorski projekt warsztatów teatralnych. Uwzględniono w nim wskazówki i pomysły respondentów, zwrócono również uwagę na rozwijanie wybranych kompetencji kluczowych.

The Master’s thesis concerns theater workshops organized at the Groteska Theater. This is a case study of one of the forms of theater education. In the theoretical part, the definitional contexts of theater pedagogy are described, i.e. cultural education, cultural pedagogy. Numerous competences, attitudes and features have been discussed, which are developed through participation in theater activities. In the following part, the institution of the Groteska Theater was presented. The research is aimed at finding the answer to the question to what extent the theater workshop organized in it can contribute to the development of key competences in children. Interviews were conducted with teachers who participated in the workshop together with the students. Two observations of theater classes have also been realized. Based on the conclusions drawn, an original theater workshop project was created. The guidelines and ideas of the respondents were taken into account, as well as the development of selected key competences.
