Proper names - fictional characters

Celem niniejszej pracy jest próba obrony fikcyjnego kreacjonizmureprezentowanego przez Zsófię Zvolenszky przed zarzutami: autorskiegotworzenia i przypadkowego tworzenia. Obrona będzie się opierać na teorii nazwwłasnych Kripkego - rozszerzonej przez Zsófię Zvolenszky o zasadę odwróconegoSinatry. W oparciu o to zostanie wykazane, że: teoria nazw postaci fikcyjnychZsófii Zvolenszky dobrze uzasadnia główną tezę artyfaktualizmu – autorskiegotworzenia; oraz że zarzut przypadkowego tworzenia - wysunięty przez StuartaBrock'a - jest chybiony. Zdaniem Zvolenszky zjawisko przypadkowej twórczościautorskiej nie jest tak niepokojące gdy przyjmuje się teorię nazw własnychKripkego oraz konsekwencje wynikające z tej teorii dla nazw postaci fikcyjnych.Ponadto zostaną podane powody, dla których stanowisko Zsófii Zvolenszky jestadekwatną teorią postaci fikcyjnych. Przede wszystkim stanowisko to zachowujepowszechne intuicje, że autorzy fikcji literackich tworzą postaci fikcyjne. Po drugiez łatwością analizuje zdania dyskursu metatekstualnego i po trzecie unika takichproblemów jak: problem wyboru, problem niewystarczalności, przypadkowegopodobieństwa, braku połączenia historycznego oraz niedopasowanego sposobuwprowadzania nazw własnych. Wspomniana obrona zostanie poprzedzona tłemteoretycznym wprowadzającym do omawianego problemu.

The purpose of this work is to attempt to defend the fictional creationismrepresented by Zsófia Zvolenszky against the accusations of Authorial Creation andInadvertent Creation. Defense will be based on Kripke's theory of proper names -extended by the Zsófia Zvolenszky's principle of inverted-Sinatra. Thanks to this itwill be shown that: firstly, the Zsófia Zvolenszky's theory of the names of fictionalcharacters well justifies the main thesis of artifactualism, which says that characterssuch as Harry Potter were created by their authors; and secondly, that the accusationof Inadvertent Creation - put forward by Stuart Brock - is misguided. According toZvolenszky, the phenomenon of Inadvertent Creation is not so disturbing whenadopting Kripke's theory of proper names and the consequences of this theory fornames of fictional characters. In addition, it will be demonstrated that ZsófiaZvolenszky's position is an adequate theory of fictional characters. Firstly, itmaintains the common intuition that authors of literary fiction create fictionalcharacters. Secondly, it easily analyzes the sentences of meta-textual discourse andthirdly it avoids such problems as: selection problem, insufficiency problem,coincidental resemblance-problem, lack of historical connection and unsuited modeof introduction. Abovementioned defense will be preceded by a theoreticalbackground introducing the discussed problem.
