The Galician Slaughter in noblemen's memories

Tematem pracy magisterskiej jest rabacja galicyjska ukazana w świetle pamiętników szlacheckich. Analizie poddano zróżnicowany materiał źródłowy, to jest wspomnienia, dzienniki, listy, powieści. Pisane zarówno na bieżąco, jak i z perspektywy czasu, osób w różnym wieku i różnej płci, zarówno osób przychylnie nastawionych do przygotowywanego powstania, jak i przeciwników tej idei. Szukano odpowiedzi na pytania o pogląd szlachty na stosunki łączące wieś i dwór, zarówno przed wydarzeniami rabacji, jak i po nich. Próbowano uchwycić przyczyny wybuchu buntu chłopskiego, w tym rolę administracji rządowej, wpływu pańszczyzny, klęsk żywiołowych i głodu, jako potencjalnych czynników mogących mieć wpływ na wybuch i przebieg rabacji.

The subject of the master's thesis is the Galician revolt shown in the light of noble memoirs. The analysis covered diverse source material, that is, memories, journals, letters, novels. Written both on a regular basis and in retrospect, by people of different ages and different sexes, favorably prepared for the uprising as well as opponents of this idea.Trials were made to answer the questions regarding the view of the nobility on the relations between the peasant and the manor, both before and after the events of the Galician Slaughter. Attempts were made to capture the causes of the outbreak of peasant rebellion, including the role of government administration, the influence of serfdom, natural disasters and hunger, as potential factors that could affect the outbreak and the course of the plunder.
