Celem niniejszej pracy jest znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie: Czy i w w jaki sposób samorządowe instytucje kultury realizują funkcję integracyjną społeczności lokalnej? Organizacje zbadane zostały pod kątem ich prawnego funkcjonowania, zadań, które realizują oraz otoczenia. Dodatkowo przeprowadzone zostało studium przypadku Samorządowego Centrum Kultury i Promocji Gminy Zabierzów. W tym celu dokonano badań w postaci wywiadu z dyrektor instytucji kultury oraz ankiet kierowanych do mieszkańców gminy Zabierzów. Uzyskane wyniki dały podstawy do stwierdzenia, że samorządowe instytucje w znacznym stopniu wpływają na integrację lokalnej społeczności. Realizacja funkcji integracyjnej przynosi najlepsze rezultaty, gdy lokalne organizacje kultury stwarzają szanse uczestnictwa w wydarzeniach plenerowych. Te projekty – jak wynika z badań – są najbardziej pożądane i najbardziej popularny wśród społeczności lokalnej.
The aim of this work is to answer the question: Whether and how the local cultural institutions perform the function of integrating the local community? For the purposes of answering the question posed research analyzed literature relating to local cultural institutions. Organizations have been examined in terms of their legal functioning, tasks that they perform or their surroundings. In addition a case study was carried out around the Local Government Center of Culture and Promotion of the Community Zabierzów. For this purpose the research was carried out in the form of an interview with the director of cultural institutions and questionnaires addressed to the local community. The results gave rise to the conclusion that local cultural institutions contribute significantly to the integration of the local community. Implementation of the integration function works best when the local cultural organizations offer opportunities to participate in outdoor events. These projects – according to research – are the most desirable and the most popular among the local community.
