The impact of the Katyn massacre on polish-russian relations

Praca porusza temat Zbrodni Katyńskiej dokonanej na polskich jeńcach wojennych, oraz wpływ jaki ma ona na relacje Polski z Rosją. Zbrodnia wojenna została popełniona przez NKWD w 1940 roku. W jej wyniku poniosło śmierć kilkanaście tysięcy obywateli Polski. Ofiary zbrodni pochowano w masowych grobach m. in. w Katyniu. Rozstrzeliwań dokonywano w ścisłej tajemnicy, aby zbrodnia nie została odkryta. Dopiero w 1943 roku ujawniono zbiorowe groby przez Niemców. ZSRR do lat 90 nie przyznawało się do winy. W 1990 roku podczas wizyty Wojciecha Jaruzelskiego w Moskwie oficjalnie przyznano, że zbrodni dokonało NKWD. Relacje polsko-rosyjskie są kruche i trudne. Na wzajemne relacje oprócz Zbrodni Katyńskiej wpłynęła także katastrofa smoleńska do której doszło w 2010 roku. W katastrofie zginęło 96 osób, w tym prezydent RP.
