Documents of the European Commission are published in various EU languages which may in certain cases lead to translation problems resulting in a divergent or incorrect interpretation of the same text. This paper provides an example of such a scenario. It analyses the English and the Polish summary of the decision issued in the case COMP/39.579 - Consumer detergents by the European Commission pointing at main inconsistencies between these two texts. Moreover, the present paper describes solutions aiming at dealing with this issue and preventing it.
