Role kobiet w powieściach Virginii Woolf ,,Do latarni morskiej" oraz ,,Pani Dalloway"

W mojej pracy licencjackiej badam role kobiet występujących w dwóch powieściach Virginii Woolf w odniesieniu do epoki wiktoriańskiej. Analizuję sposób przedstawienia wybranych postaci oraz funkcje, jakie mogą reprezentować. W pierwszym rozdziale prezentuję główne założenia dotyczące roli kobiet w epoce wiktoriańskiej w odniesieniu do ich małżeństwa, rodziny oraz edukacji. Drugi rozdział koncentruje się na trzech żeńskich postaciach z powieści Do Latarni Morskiej - Mrs Ramsay, Lily Briscoe oraz Mrs McNab. Analizuję, jak Virginia Woolf przedstawiła te postaci oraz jak odnoszą się one do wiktoriańskich założeń. Ostatni rozdział jest prezentacją trzech żeńskich postaci z powieści Pani Dalloway. Koncentruję się na Mrs Dalloway, Elizabeth Dalloway oraz Lucrezi Warren Smith. Analizuję role tych postaci w odniesieniu do reguły wiktoriańskiej.

In my bachelor thesis, I examine the roles of women in Virginia Woolf's two novels in reference to the Victorian Age. I analyse how selected female characters are presented by Woolf and what they may represent. In the first chapter I present the main premises concerning women's role in the Victorian Era in the sphere of their marriage, family and education. The second chapter revolves around three female characters from To the Lighthouse - Mrs Ramsay, Lily Briscoe and Mrs McNab. I analyse how they are presented by Virginia Woolf and how they correspond to the Victorian premises. The last chapter is a representation of three female characters from Mrs Dalloway. I focus on Mrs Dalloway, Elizabeth Dalloway, and Lucrezia Warren Smith. I analyse their roles as regards the Victorian rules.
