The thesis is meant for the people whose interests are connected with the subject of Middle East. Based by the adequate literature seems to show trade face of Petra. To prove it, described economy of Nabatean kingdom and very important trade routes extending to Petra. In the thesis are also described rise Nabateans country, history and other cities located on the trade routes. Presented language, beliefs and architecture of Nabateans. Presented are also times of greatest glory of Petra and the period of her decline.

Praca jest przeznaczona dla osób, których zainteresowania związane są z tematyką Bliskiego Wschodu. W oparciu o odpowiednią literaturę starano się ukazać handlowe oblicze stolicy państwa Nabatejskiego i aby to udowodnić, opisana została gospodarka państwa Nabatejczyków oraz bardzo ważne szlaki handlowe przebiegające właśnie przez Petrę. W pracy opisano również powstanie Nabatei, jej historię oraz inne miasta nabatejskie położone wzdłuż szlaków handlowych. Zaprezentowano język, wierzenia oraz architekturę Nabatejczyków. Przedstawione zostały także czasy największej świetności Petry oraz przyczyny i okres jej upadku.
