Praca niniejsza składa się ze wstępu, trzech rozdziałów oraz zakończenia. Wstęp stanowi wprowadzenie do problematyki twórczości i życia artystycznego, a także biografii amerykańskiego muzyka folkowego działającego na przełomie lat 60. i 70. XX wieku, Phila Ochsa. Rozdział pierwszy ma charakter teoretyczny i omawia najważniejsze szkoły translatologiczne, teorie tłumaczenia, sposoby operacji na tekście oraz związki między przekładem, a poezją śpiewaną i piosenkami. Rozdział drugi poświęcony jest najważniejszym, mającym wpływ na twórczość i odbijającym się w niej, zagadnieniom biograficznym, rozdział trzeci zaś to przekłady dziesięciu pieśni tematycznych dokonane przez autorkę pracy wraz z tekstami oryginalnymi i komentarzami do nich (w jednym przypadku również tłumaczeniem cudzym). Zakończenie natomiast stanowi podsumowanie przekładów i komentarzy z uwzględnieniem aspektu teoretycznego traduktologii, biografii autora oraz tła amerykańskich lat 60.

The thesis contains introduction, three chapters and conclusion. The introduction helps the reader to understand the issues connected with life and works of Phil Ochs, American folk singer from the 60s and 70s. First chapter is theoretical and discusses the most important schools of translation, theories, ways of reading and understanding texts and connections between translation and sung poetry and songs as well. Second chapter is dedicated to the most important, influential biographical issues and in third the author translates ten topical songs and gives her commentaries about them.The conclusion contains the summary of the whole thesis, especially Ochs’ biography, theoretical aspects of translation and the background of American the 60s.
