Ukraine's Orange Revolution in light of The Wall Street Journal publication

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienia Pomarańczowej Rewolucji w świetle publikacji "The Wall Street Journal". Praca składa się z dwóch rozdziałów. W pierwszym rozdzialepodzielonym na trzy podrozdziały zarysowałem tło historyczne Pomarańczowej Rewolucji z perspektywy historii najnowszej Ukrainy i polityki zagranicznej USA wobec Ukrainy oraz przedstawiłem podstawowe informacje o dzienniku „The Wall Street Journal”. W zaprezentowaniu tła historycznego wydarzeń na Ukrainie wykorzystałem literaturę polsko- i anglojęzyczną. Skorzystałem również z przetłumaczonych na język polski i angielski opracowań ukraińskich historyków. Drugi rozdział, stanowiący główny trzon pracy, podzieliłem na cztery części. Wyróżniłem w nim najważniejsze wątki Pomarańczowej Rewolucji w świetle publikacji „The Wall Street Journal”. W zakończeniu dokonałem podsumowania i zaprezentowałem wynikające z pracy wnioski. W pracy odpowiedziano na pytanie badawcze. Przedstawiono w jak sposób, zmieniała się perspektywa postrzegania Pomarańczowej Rewolucji na łamach "The Wall Street Journal" oraz wyróżniono, na które kwestie szczególnie zwracano uwagę.

The objective of this study is to present the Orange Revolution tin the light of the publications of The Wall Street Journal. The work comprises two chapters. In the first chapter, divided into three subchapters, I delineated the historical backdrop of the Orange Revolution from the standpoint of Ukraine's recent history and U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine and presented basic information about The Wall Street Journal. In presenting the historical background of the events in Ukraine , I used Polish and English-language literature and incorporated translated works of Ukrainian historians in both languages. I divided the second chapter, which is the main core of the work, into four parts. Within it, I underscored the themes of the Orange Revolution which have received particular attention. In the concluding, I made a summary and presented the conclusions resulting from the work. The study effectively answered the research query, expounding on how the perception of the Orange Revolution transformed in the pages of The Wall Street Journal, while pinpointing the specific issues that commanded noteworthy attention.
