Eco-Management and Audit Scheme as an instrument of integrated environmental protection.

Niniejsza praca prezentuje system Ekozarządzania i Audytu (EMAS). System ten stanowi instrument zintegrowanej ochrony środowiska. Pierwsza część pracy została poświęcona koncepcji zintegrowanej ochrony środowiska. W części tej analizie poddana została zasada integracji na tle innych podstawowych zasad ochrony środowiska obowiązujących w Polsce i w Unii Europejskiej. Druga część pracy poświęcona jest analizie systemu EMAS. W tym miejscu opisana została ewolucja przepisów rozporządzenia od roku 1993 do 2011. Szczegółowo omówione zostało rozporządzenie EMAS III oraz jego wdrożenie do polskiego porządku prawnego. Na zakończenie opisane zostały kategorie uczestników systemu EMAS oraz korzyści płynące z wdrożenia systemu EMAS.

This thesis presents Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), which constitutes an instrument of integrated environmental protection. The first part of the thesis has been dedicated to the concept of integrated environmental protection. In this part the integration principle has been analyzed in comparison with other basic principles of environmental protection that are applied in Poland and in the European Union. The second part of thesis includes the analysis of EMAS. The detailed discussion of evolution of EMAS provisions from the year 1993 to 2011 has been followed by presenting the implementation of EMAS system into the Polish legal system. The final part of the thesis presents categories of EMAS participants and discusses benefits from its implementation.
