Celem pracy jest omówienie roli Prezydenta jako Zwierzchnika Sił Zbrojnych Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej. Przedstawiony zostaje proces kształtowania się zwierzchnictwa głowy państwa nad armią od czasów Mieszka I do czasów współczesnych. Przeprowadzona jest analiza uprawnień prezydenta oraz jego organów pomocniczych, doradczych w stosunku Wojska Polskiego. Omówione zostają kwestie użycia Sił Zbrojnych w stanach nadzwyczajnych.
The aim of the thesis is to discuss the role of the President as Superior of the Polish Armed Forces. Presented is the process of shaping the supremacy of the head of state over the army from the times of Mieszko I to modern times. An analysis of the powers of the president and his auxiliary and advisory bodies in relation to the Polish Army. Issues of the use of the Armed Forces in emergency states are discussed.
