Spanish inquisition since its beginning to the middle of XVI century. The origin and method of operation.

Tematem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest inkwizycja hiszpańska w XV- poł. XVI w., przyczyny jej powstania, metody działania oraz jego skutki. W pierwszym rozdziale omówiona została geneza inkwizycji i sposoby walki z herezją we wczesnym średniowieczu. Drugi rozdział nakreśla tło polityczne i społeczne Hiszpanii w XV w., a także jej zjednoczenie przez Izabelę Kastylijską i Ferdynanda Aragońskiego. Kolejne części pracy opisują powstanie inkwizycji na terenie Hiszpanii, jej strukturę, walkę z Żydami i muzułmanami, działania za panowania królów katolickich i Karola I.

The main focus of this thesis is the activity of the Spanish Inquisition at the turn of 15th and early 16th centuries, its origin, methods and its aftermath. The first chapter describes the background of the inquisition and ways to combat heresy in early Middle Ages. The second chapter focuses on the political and social background of fifteenth-century Spain as well as its reunion by Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon. The following chapters describe the foundation of the inquisition in Spain, its structure, fight with the Jews and Muslims, and activities under the reign of Catholic kings and king Charles I.
