Niniejsza praca licencjacka koncentruje się na obrazie końca wojny w Afganistanie 2001-2021. Porównuje ze sobą sposoby przedstawienia tego okresu w polskim dzienniku „Gazecie Wyborczej” oraz norweskim „Aftenposten” między styczniem a sierpniem 2021. Celem było potwierdzenie lub obalenie hipotezy, która brzmiała: obraz końca wojny w Afganistanie w tych dwóch dziennikach będzie odmienny. Założenie takie wynikało z historii obu krajów, ich obecności w NATO, powodów dołączenia do koalicji krajów Zachodu przeciwko terrorystom ukrywającym się w Afganistanie i rządom talibów oraz różnice wynikające z funkcjonowania w odmiennych systemach medialnych. W pracy przeanalizowano 47 tekstów z każdego z dzienników, łącznie 94. Analiza wybranych tekstów została zainspirowana ogólnymi założeniami teorii ugruntowanej. Poruszane w tekstach wątki były odpowiednio uogólniane do poszczególnych kategorii analitycznych, na tej podstawie wysunięto wnioski. Wyniki analizy pozwoliły na obalenie hipotezy. Zaobserwowane różnice nie były aż tak widoczne, jakich się spodziewano. Większość poruszanych tematów w kontekście końca wojny były takie same i dodatkowo przedstawiane w bardzo zbliżony sposób.

This bachelor’s dissertation is concentrated on image of the end of the Afghan war 2001-2021. Styles of portraying this period in polish journal “Gazeta Wyborcza” and Norwegian “Aftenposten” between January and August of 2021, are compared. The aim was to confirm or disprove the hypothesis: the Polish daily "Gazeta Wyborcza" presents a fundamentally different image of the end of the war in Afghanistan than its Norwegian counterpart “Aftenposten”. Such an assumption resulted from the history of both countries, their presence in NATO, the reasons for joining the coalition of Western countries against terrorists hiding in Afghanistan and the Taliban rule and the differences resulting from their functioning in different media systems. The study analyzed 47 texts from each of the journals, 94 in total. The analysis of selected texts was inspired by the general assumptions of the grounded theory. The threads discussed in the texts were adequately generalized to individual analytical categories, on this basis conclusions were drawn. The results of the analysis made it possible to refute the hypothesis. The observed differences were not quite as visible as expected. Most of the topics discussed in the context of the end of the war were the same and additionally presented in a very similar way.
