Celem artykułu jest omówienie i przeanalizowanie wystawy Everest 8848 Art Project, która odbyła się w 2012 roku w Kathmandu w kontekście zorientowanych wokół śmieci teorii antropologicznych i filozoficznych. Ważnym będzie tu omówienie problemu związanego z funkcjonowaniem śmieci w sztuce współczesnej, a także pytanie o status przedmiotu oraz sposoby wykorzystania go jako materiału twórczego. Do omówienia opisywanych w tekście zjawisk trash artu, upcyclingu oraz ready mades posłuży mi przede wszystkim artykuł Jonathana Cullera pt. "Teoria śmieci".

The purpose of this article is to discuss issues related to the functioning of the kategoryczny of trash in philosophy and modern art. Especially, essential here is the question about status of subject in contemporary thought on art. In particular, the analysis has been subjected to Everest 8848 Art Project exhibition, which took place in Katmandu in 2012, and which is basically the best example to explain what in art upcycling really means. As a base for this analyze I will use an article by Jonathan Culler, who follows the understanding of the "trash" term, their division in philosophical thought, contemporary conceptions and methods of their use.
