Niniejsza praca przedstawia postać Siergieja Diagilewa, jako inspiratora, twórcę kultury, menedżera i kreatora artystów. Jest ona próbą analizy działalności Diagilewa, jako organizatora przedsięwzięć kulturalnych, które miały znaczący wpływ na rozwój kultury XX w. Praca zawiera zarys rosyjskiej kultury w latach życia Diagilewa, szkic jego biografii, wydarzenia kulturalne którymi przewodził oraz charakterystykę jego współpracy z artystami. Ostatnia część pracy prezentuje recepcję Diagilewa na przełomie XX i XXI w., na podstawie wybranych instytucji i projektów kulturalnych związanych z jego osobą.

The following thesis is about the figure of Sergey Diaghilev, as an initiator, manager creator of culture and artists. It contains an analysis of the cultural activity of Diaghilev, as the organizer of events that had a significant impact on the twentieth century culture. The thesis shows the situation of Russian culture in the turn of the XIX and XX century, Diaghilev’s brief biography, cultural events which he organized and the characteristics of his collaboration with artists. The final part of the thesis presents the reception of Diaghilev at the turn of the XX and XXI century, based on the institutions and cultural projects associated with his person.
