Characteristic of the tour leader profession

Niniejsza praca ma na celu zaprezentowanie specyfiki zawodu pilota wycieczek. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono w niej cechom charakteru, a także kwalifikacjom, które pełnią istotną rolę w prawidłowym wykonywaniu tego zawodu. W pracy omówione zostały kwestie terminologiczne oraz funkcje pilotażu. Przedstawiono w niej także formy organizacji pracy pilota wycieczek w Polsce, prawa i obowiązki pilota wycieczek oraz zmiany jakie zaszły w przygotowaniu do tego zawodu na przestrzeni lat. Ciekawym uzupełnieniem pracy jest przybliżenie kwestii pilotażu wycieczek w innych krajach europejskich. W celu dokonania charakterystyki zawodu przeprowadzono wśród 27 pilotów wycieczek badania ankietowe, których wyniki omówione zostały w ostatnim rozdziale pracy. Piloci biorący udział w badaniu pochodzą z różnych grup wiekowych i mają za sobą różny staż pracy, a co za tym idzie odpowiedzi dają szersze spojrzenie na sylwetkę pilota wycieczek oraz specyfikę tego zawodu. Najważniejszym wnioskiem wyciągniętym z pracy jest poczucie, że zawód pilota wycieczek jest wciąż potrzebnym zawodem i cały czas cieszy się on dużym zainteresowaniem, przez co nie brakuje chętnych do pracy w nim.

This thesis presents the specifics of the tour leader profession. Particular attention was paid to character traits, such as qualifications that are essential in the proper exercise of the profession. The thesis elaborates on the terminology and functions of guides. It also presents the types of work organization of tour leaders in Poland, the rights and obligations of tour leaders and changes in preparation for this profession over the years. An interesting supplement is a description of guiding in the other European countries. In older to characterize the profession the survey was carried out among 27 tour leaders with the results discussed in the last chapter. Tour leaders, tho participated in the study, came from different age groups and had different work experience, and thus their answers give a broader view to a profile of a tour leader, as well as the specifics of the profession. The most important conclusion of the thesis is a sense that the profession of tour leader is still needed and very popular, resulting in no shortage of people willing to take up this profession.
