The styles of leadership in sports organizations and their practical consequences

W pracy podjęto tematykę stylów kierowania w organizacjach sportowych oraz wiążących się z nimi konsekwencji praktycznych. Cel niniejszej pracy stanowiło wykazanie, iż styl kierowania wpływa na efektywność drużyny sportowej i warunkuje wiele aspektów jej funkcjonowania. Rozdział pierwszy poświęcony został zagadnieniu zarządzania, opisanemu z punktu widzenia różnych ujęć i teorii naukowych. Drugi rozdział odnosi się do zagadnienia zarządzania w sporcie. Opisano w nim specyfikę działania klubu sportowego, rozwój organizacji sportowych, ich typologię oraz specyfikę pracy trenera sportowego. Trzecia część pracy przedstawia natomiast różne typologie stylów kierowania – zarówno na gruncie polskim, jak i zagranicznym – ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem klasyfikacji Daniela Golemana, w oparciu o którą sporządzono narzędzie badawcze. Podjęte badanie opisane zostało z kolei w rozdziale czwartym. Przeprowadzono je wśród zawodników trzech drużyn piłkarskich metodą sondażu diagnostycznego z wykorzystaniem kwestionariusza ankiety. Wyniki badania opisane i przeanalizowane zostały w piątym rozdziale pracy, natomiast rozdział szósty opisuje wnioski teoretyczne oraz praktyczne. Zarówno opisane w pracy rozważania teoretyczne naukowców, jak i wnioski z przeprowadzonego badania dowodzą, iż style kierowania w organizacjach sportowych to istotne zagadnienie, dzięki któremu wypracować można praktyczne rozwiązania dla trenerów i drużyn sportowych.

The master thesis deals with the subject of leadership styles in sports organizations and the practical implications associated with them. The aim of the thesis was to show that the style of leadership affects the efficiency of the sports team and determines many aspects of its functioning.The first chapter is devoted to the issue of management, described from the point of view of various scientific approaches and theories. The second chapter refers to the issue of management in sport. It describes the specificity of sports club operation, the development of sports organizations, their typology and the specificity of the sport coach’s work. The third part of the thesis presents various typologies of management styles – both on Polish and foreign ground – with particular emphasis on the classification of Daniel Goleman, based on which a research tool was prepared. The conducted study was described in turn in the fourth chapter. They were carried out among the players of three football teams by means of a diagnostic survey using a questionnaire. The results of the study are described and analyzed in the fifth chapter of the thesis, while the sixth chapter describes the theoretical and practical conclusions. Both, the theoretical considerations of scientists and the conclusions described in the thesis, show that leadership styles in sports organizations are an important issue, thanks to which it is possible to develop practical solutions for trainers and sports teams.
