Vocational Development Centre: between protection and self-empowerment.

Osoby z niepełnosprawnością w stopniu umiarkowanym i znacznym napotykają wiele barier w życiu społecznym i zawodowym. Mają trudności w adaptacji na rynku pracy. Jedną z możliwości ich zatrudnienia jest Zakład Aktywności Zawodowej. Celem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie wyjątkowej formuły tego typu placówki, która z jednej strony usamodzielnia, a z drugiej chroni zatrudnione w niej osoby z niepełnosprawnością. Przedstawia ona rzeczywiste funkcje Zakładu Aktywności Zawodowej oraz szereg procesów zachodzących w jego obrębie, a mających ogromny wpływ na efekty rehabilitacji zawodowej i społecznej osób z niepełnosprawnością. Prawne, statystyczne oraz socjologiczne ujęcie tegoż zjawiska, wykazanie dobrych praktyk holenderskich w zakresie aktywizacji zawodowej i społecznej oraz triangulacja metodologiczna zastosowana w części jakościowej niniejszej rozprawy, pozwalają na dogłębne zapoznanie się ze sposobem działania Zakładu Aktywności Zawodowej.

People with disabilities face many barriers in social and working life. They have difficulties in adapting to the labour market. One of the possibilities of their employment is the Vocational Development Centre (as the element of professional and social rehabilitation of the disabled people). The purpose of this work is to show the unique formula of this type of institution, which on the one hand makes it independent, and on the other protects persons with disabilities employed there. It presents the actual functions of the Vocational Development Centre and a number of processes taking place within it, which have a huge impact on the effects of professional and social rehabilitation of people with disabilities. The legal, statistical and sociological approach to this phenomenon, demonstration of good Dutch practices in the field of professional and social activation, and the methodological triangulation used in the qualitative part of this master’s thesis, allow to an in-depth knowledge of the way the legal, statistical and sociological approach to this phenomenon, demonstration of good Dutch practices in the field of professional and social activation, and the methodological triangulation used in the qualitative part of this dissertation, allow an in-depth knowledge of the way the Department of Professional Activity works.
