Death penalty as tyrant's political tool - how Tiberius and Nero killed their opposition according to Tacitus

Głównym celem pracy jest, posiłkując się dziełem Tacyta, prześledzenie i zestawienie ze sobą sposobów w jaki Tyberiusz i Neron używali systemu prawnego, aby na zawsze pozbyć się opozycji, a także co działo się kiedy owo prawo było nie wystarczające oraz krótka analiza powodów, które stały za tym postępowaniem, jak również obraz obu cesarzy w „Rocznikach” i jakie ma to konsekwencje w naszym dzisiejszym postrzeganiu ich.

The main aim of the paper is, using the work of Tacitus, to trace and juxtapose the ways in which Tiberius and Nero used the legal system to get rid of the opposition indefinitely, as well as what occurred when this law was insufficient and a brief analysis of the reasons behind this conduct, as well as the depiction of both emperors in the 'Annals' and what implications this has in our perception of them today.
