Offensive intelligence of the Home Army on the example of selected intelligence operations

Wywiad Armii Krajowej podczas II wojny światowej odegrał kluczową role w pozyskiwaniu informacji dla zachodnich aliantów które wpłynęły na los konfliktu a jednocześnie pozwoliły sojusznikom takim jak Stany Zjednoczone czy też Wielka Brytania zyskać przewagę nad Niemcami. Praca ma celu ukazanie jak pracował wywiad AK podczas II wojny światowej, z większym skupieniem na wywiad ofensywny oraz trzech wybranych operacji wywiadowczych. Wybrane w liczbie trzech operacji mają za cel pokazać jakie stosowano metody działań wywiadowczych, kto brał w nich udział, jak ich wynik wpłynął na działania wojenne aliantów w zachodniej Europie, oraz jakie wyrządzono straty wśród Niemców. Rozdział pierwszy omawia genezę samej Armii Krajowej aby lepiej poznać jej historię oraz uwarunkowania powstania wywiadu w okupowanym kraju. Przedstawiono również sylwetki wybranych szefów II Oddziału Informacyjno-wywiadowczego, którzy pełnili kluczową rolę w kierownictwie przedstawionych operacji. Następnie praca opisze szczegółowo podane operacje aby lepiej poznać sposoby ich wykonania przez Wywiad Armii Krajowej, uwzględniając metody, środki, personel, zaangażowanie zachodnich aliantów w działaniach wywiadowczych. Ostatni rozdział koncentruje się na przeprowadzeniu dokładnej analizy formy działań w operacjach oraz znalezienie między nimi podobieństw oraz ocenę pracy wywiadu AK w oczach zachodnich aliantów, ze skupieniem na Stany Zjednoczone oraz Wielką Brytanię. Praca ma za zadanie ukazać kluczową rolę wywiadu AK w działaniach wojennych Aliantów oraz wpływu na losy II wojny światowej na froncie w Europie.

Home Army intelligence during World War II played a key role in obtaining information for the Western Allies that influenced the fate of the conflict and at the same time allowed allies such as the United States or Great Britain to gain an advantage over Germany. The aim of the work is to show how the Home Army intelligence worked during World War II, with a greater focus on offensive intelligence and three selected intelligence operations. The purpose of the three operations is to show what methods of intelligence activities were used, who took part in them, how their result affected the Allied military operations in Western Europe, and what losses were inflicted among the Germans. The first chapter discusses the genesis of the Home Army itself in order to better understand its history and the conditions for the creation of intelligence in the occupied country. The profiles of selected heads of the Second Information and Intelligence Department, who played a key role in the management of the presented operations, are also presented. Then the paper will describe in detail the given operations in order to better understand the ways in which they were carried out by the Home Army Intelligence, taking into account the methods, means, personnel, and involvement of the Western Allies in intelligence activities. The last chapter focuses on conducting a thorough analysis of the form of operations in the operations and finding similarities between them and evaluating the work of Home Army intelligence in the eyes of the Western Allies, with a focus on the United States and Great Britain. The aim of the work is to show the key role of the Home Army intelligence in the Allied military operations and the impact on the fate of World War II on the front in Europe.
