Three-dimensional organization of the ovarian follicles in earwigs (Insecta, Dermatera)

Skorki to nieliczny w gatunki rząd owadów o przeobrażeniu niezupełnym. W ostatnich latach stały się one dość popularnym modelem badawczym w odniesieniu do budowy jajników, procesów zachodzących podczas oogenezy oraz ewolucji strategii rozrodczych. Jajniki skorków zbudowane są z owariol typu meroistycznego – politroficznego i zawierają dość prosto zbudowane pęcherzyki jajnikowe. W niniejszej pracy podsumowano dotychczasową wiedzę na temat morfogenezy pęcherzyków jajnikowych u skorków oraz podjęto próbę reinterpretacji otrzymanych dotychczas wyników na temat budowy komórek odżywczych (trofocytów), zwracając szczególną uwagę na kształt jądra komórkowego tej komórki w kontekście pełnionych przez nią funkcji podczas oogenezy.

Dermaptera is a small hemimetabolous insect order with a handful described species. In recent years, they have become a relatively popular model system for studies on the ovarian structure, processes occurring during oogenesis as well as the evolution of reproductive strategies. The ovary in erwigs is composed of the ovarioles of the meroistic - polytrophic type that comprise quite simple ovarian follicles. In this thesis, the existing knowledge on the morphogenesis of ovarian follicles in earwigs has been accumulated and summarized, and an attempt has been made to reinterpret the results obtained on the structure of nurse cells (trophocytes), paying special attention to the shape of the nucleus in context of the trophocyte functions during oogenesis.
