Terrorist - muslim? Influence the presentation of the problem of terrorism in polish magazines on the perception Arab population.

Tematem pracy jest wpływ prezentacji problemu terroryzmu na postrzeganie ludności arabskiej przez czytelników najpopularniejszych polskich czasopism. O intensywności i ważności tego problemu we współczesnym świecie świadczy ogromna liczba artykułów prasowych, w których poruszany jest wątek terroryzmu, sytuacji na Bliskim Wschodzie, życia codziennego muzułmanów i wyznawanej religii. W pracy przedstawiony jest ogólny problem terroryzmu, który przedstawiany w mediach kształtuje wyobrażenie na jego temat, utrwalając negatywny stereotyp funkcjonujący w naszym społeczeństwie: terrorysta-muzułmanin. Celem pracy jest zbadanie sposobu prezentacji tego zjawiska na łamach polskich tygodników za pomocą analizy treści artykułów prasowych.

The theme of this thesis is influence the presentation about problem of terrorism in polish magazines on the perception Arab population. The intensity and importance of the problem in the modern world provides a huge number of articles in the press, about terrorism, the situation in the Middle East, the everyday life of Muslims and their religion. In this thesis presented a general problem of terrorism, stereotyping of ethnic groups and newspaper which creating our outlook. The magazines shapes our worldview about Arab population, perpetuating the stereotype in our society: a terrorist - a Muslim. Aim of this study is to investigate the method of presentation of the Arab population in Polish magazines.
