Hungarian influences on Polish Spisz in the ages XVIII-XX.

Celem tej pracy jest przybliżenie historii Polskiego Spisza, a szczególnie okresu, w którym północne tereny Zamagurza spiskiego wchodziły w skład monarchii węgierskiej. Burzliwe i zmienne dzieje tego niewielkiego terenu spowodowały, że jest on niezwykle zróżnicowany kulturowo i etnograficznie. Po przybliżeniu początków osadnictwa i kształtowaniu administracji na Spiszu praca skupia się na najnowszej historii, aby znaleźć węgierskie wpływy i przedstawić życie rdzennie polskiej ludności, która od początku XIV wieku pozostawała pod wpływem węgierskich magnatów rezydujących na zamku w Niedzicy. Kolejne rozdziały przedstawiają dzieje dominium dunajeckiego, zmieniających się jego właścicieli. Dzięki spisom majątkowym oraz spisom ludności obrazuje codzienne życie chłopów, ich obowiązki względem pana oraz życie parafialne itd. Zmieniająca się sytuacja polityczna to także zmiany w edukacji, rozpowszechnienie wpływów słowackich oraz walka o przyłączenie Spisza do Polski na początku XX w. Poza dostępnymi źródłami historycznymi praca przedstawia historię zachowaną w pamięci ludzi, opowieści o służbie wojskowej, oraz dokumenty zachowane w prywatnych archiwach, a także kilka naleciałości węgierskich w języku gwarowym mieszkańców.

The aim of this thesis is bring the history of region Polish Spisz closer, especially the period in which the northern territories of the Spiš belonged to the Hungarian monarchy. The stormy and changing story of this small region has made it extremely culturally and ethnically diverse. After presenting the beginnings of settling and shaping administration in Spisz, the thesis focuses on recent history to find Hungarian influences and present the life of the indigenous Polish population, which from the beginning of the 14th century was influenced by the Hungarian magnates residing in the Castle in Niedzica.The next chapters depict the history on domination in the Spisz, the changing owners. Thanks to the inventory of property and population censuses illustrated the daily life of the peasants, their duties to the master and parish life, etc. The changing political situation is also the changes in education, the spread of the Slovak influence and the fight for joining Spisz to Poland in the early 20th century. In addition to the available historical sources, the thesis presents the history saved in people`s memory, the stories of military service, the documents retained in private archives, and also several Hungarian loanwords in the dialect of the inhabitants.
