Próba zakreślenia, kim są Mapuche (mniejszość etniczna, ludność rdzenna, zasymilowani obywatele Argentyny i Chile) i podstawowych elementów ich tożsamości: ziemia i terytorium, język, samookreślenie.Przegląd literatury i perspektyw badawczych w dotychczasowych publikacjach dotyczących etniczności i Indian Mapuche: konflikt terytorialny, ludność rdzenna, analizy szczegółowe: kobiety, konflikty ekologiczne, współczesne ruchy społeczne, migracja do miast, organizacje i ruch tubylczy.Przegląd literatury dotyczącej aktywności Mapuche w Internecie w latach 2000-2010. Analiza zmian tej aktywności na podstawie stron internetowych funkcjonujących przez ostatnie 5 lat.

In this article I attempt to summarize studies related to the Mapuche ethnic identity and describe their affirming ethnic identity through the use of Internet.Who are Mapuche (ethnic minority, indigenous, native people, assimilated Argentinean and Chilean citizens)? What are their most important identity elements: land and territory, language, self-identification?A literature review of the publications related to the subjects: ethnicity, ethnic identity of Mapuche, territory conflict, native people, women, ecological conflicts, modern social movements, internal migration and indigenous movement.A literature review on the subject of the Mapuche’s activity on the Internet (2000-2010). An attempt of analysis of the use of Internet by Mapuche during the last 5 years.
