The Princes Czartoryski Foundation.The inception and its cultural activity.

W pracy opisano działalność Fundacji Książąt Czartoryskich w Krakowie na przestrzeni ostatnich dwóch wieków. Celem pracy była analiza funkcjonowania Fundacji i jej działalności kulturalnej. Podjęto temat, który jest powszechnie znany, jednak nikt wcześniej nie podjął się próby opracowania tego zagadnienia. W pracy przedstawiono genezę powstania Fundacji, zmiany organizacyjne i prowadzoną przez nią działalność kulturalną. Starano się dowieść, że prowadzona przez Fundację działalność ma charakter wybitnie narodowy, który objawiał się m. in. w licznych akcjach promujących kulturę polską i tożsamość narodową. Na podstawie analizy materiałów wykazano, że Fundacja Książąt Czartoryskich, pomimo licznych trudności, wprowadzała pionierskie w skali naszego kraju rozwiązania, związane z działalnością kulturalną. W pracy udało się dowieść słuszności założonych tez oraz usystematyzować wiedzę na temat opisywanego zagadnienia. W pracy wykorzystano materiały z różnych dziedzin, który pozwolił zachować interdyscyplinarny charakter wywodu.

In this work it has been described the activity of the Cracow Czartoryski's Foundation over the last two centuries. Its purpose was the analysis of the Foundation's performance and its cultural activity. The subject of the analysis is generally known in the scientific discussion but nobody has ever broke the new ground in this area. In this work it has been presented the inception of the Foundation , its organizational changes and the cultural activity held by the Foundation. It has been tried to prove that the activity held by the Foundation preserved outstandingly its national character which could have been observed in numerous actions promoting Polish culture and aiming at retaining its national identity. On the basis of the analysis of many documents it has been proved that Cracow Czartoryski's Foundation implemented the pioneering solution in the scale of our country , which was connected with the cultural activity besides the numerous difficulties. The materials that were taken into concideration come from the various disciplines and they allowed to preserve the interdisciplinary character of the analysis.
