Translation into Polish of Title I, Title II and Chapter I of Title III of the First Book of the Italian Penal Code and critical analysis of the translation

Celem pracy jest dokonanie tłumaczenia na język polski pierwszych rozdziałów włoskiego Kodeksu karnego oraz prezentacja krytycznego komentarza przekładu. Studium rozpoczyna charakterystyka kodeksu celem przybliżenia czytelnikowi tematyki oraz zaprezentowania głównych cech tłumaczonej ustawy karnej. Następnie przedstawia się cechy charakterystyczne włoskiego języka prawnego i prawniczego oraz objaśnia funkcjonujące w polskiej nauce pojęcie języka prawnego. Czwarty rozdział ukazuje problemy dotyczące tłumaczenia prawniczego. Kolejna część pracy zawiera tłumaczenie Tytułu I, Tytułu II oraz Rozdziału I Tytułu III Pierwszej Księgi włoskiego Kodeksu karnego. Szósty rozdział obejmuje analizę krytyczną oraz komentarz tłumaczenia. Pracę kończy prezentacja wniosków.

The main aim of this MA thesis is to translate into Polish the opening chapters of the Italian Penal Code and to provide a critical commentary of the translation. The study begins with a characteristic of the code the purpose of which is to introduce the matter to the reader and to present the major features of criminal law. The subsequent part exposes the peculiarities of the Italian legal language and explains the Polish notion of the language of the law. The fourth chapter presents the issues concerning legal translation. The following section contains the translation of Title I, Title II and Chapter I of Title III of the First Book of the Italian Penal Code. The sixth chapter presents the critical analysis and commentary of the translation. The study ends with conclusions.

Lo scopo della presente tesi di laurea è tradurre in lingua polacca i capitoli iniziali del codice penale italiano e di fornire un commento metatraduttivo. Lo studio inizia con una specificità del codice per introdurre il lettore alla tematica e presentare le caratteristiche principali della legge penale. Nella parte successiva si espongono le peculiarità del linguaggio giuridico italiano e si spiega la nozione polacca della lingua del diritto. Il quarto capitolo presenta i problemi riguardanti la traduzione giuridica. La sezione seguente contiene la traduzione del Titolo I, del Titolo II e del Capo I del Titolo III del Libro Primo del Codice penale italiano. Il sesto capitolo comprende l’analisi critica e il commento della traduzione. Lo studio termina con le conclusioni.
