Praca ma na celu przybliżenie historii Iranu i Nikaragui ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ich relacji ze Stanami Zjednoczonymi. Poprzez ukazanie żywotnych interesów USA zarówno w Iranie jak i w Nikaragui, czytelnikowi ma zostać przybliżone podłoże wybuchu afery Iran-Contras oraz uwzględnienie udziału w niej płk. Olivera Northa.
The aim of the work is presentation of the history of Iran and Nicaragua, with particular emphasis on their relations with the United States. By showing the vital interests of the USA, both in Iran and in Nicaragua, the reader is to be familiarized with the causes of the Iran-Contras scandal and the participation in it of the Col. Oliver North.
