Safety of civil aviation

Celem pracy jest analiza bezpieczeństwa transportu lotniczego oraz zapobiegania terroryzmowi lotniczemu. Pierwszy rozdział zawiera informacje teoretyczne na temat rozwoju bezpieczeństwa w lotnictwie, zarządzania bezpieczeństwem oraz opisuje system jego działania. Znajduje się w nim także charakterystyka i funkcjonowanie krajowych organizacji dbających o bezpieczeństwo w lotnictwie cywilnym. W drugim rozdziale scharakteryzowano organy odpowiedzialne za bezpieczeństwo w portach lotniczych. Opisano zakres działań Straży Granicznej dotyczących bezpieczeństwa w lotnictwie cywilnym, jak również funkcjonowanie komisariatów lotniskowych policji. Rozdział ten wyjaśnia także, jak wygląda kontrola bezpieczeństwa, jakich przedmiotów nie można wnosić na pokład statku powietrznego oraz jak działa ochrona lotniska, kamery termowizyjne i roboty mobilne. W końcowej części pracy zostały umieszczone dane na temat stosowanych taktyk terrorystów, sposobów walki z nimi, wraz z opisem jak zmienił się system bezpieczeństwa po ataku na World Trade Center. Ponadto ostatni z rozdziałów przedstawia prawne aspekty walki z terroryzmem. W pracy zastosowano metody badawcze takie jak: analiza prawno- instytucjonalna, analiza źródeł literatury przedmiotu, metoda statystyczna oraz metoda opisowa. Praca składa się ze wstępu, trzech rozdziałów, jak również zakończenia. Koniec pracy zwieńczony jest bibliografią.

The aim of the work is to analyze the safety of air transport and prevent terrorism. The first chapter contains theoretical information on the development of aviation safety, safety management and describes the system of its operation. It also features the characteristics and functioning of national organizations that care for safety in civil aviation. The second chapter describes the authorities responsible for security at airports. The scope of activities of the Border Guard regarding security in civil aviation as well as the functioning of police airport police stations has been described. This chapter also explains what a security check, what items can’t be brought on board an aircraft, and how airport security, thermal imaging cameras and mobile robots work. In the final part of the work were placed data on the terrorist tactics used, ways to fight them, along with a description of how the security system changed after the attack on the World Trade Center. In addition, the last chapter presents the legal aspects of the fight against terrorism. The research methods used were: legal and institutional analysis, analysis of literature sources, statistical method and descriptive method. The work consists of an introduction, three chapters as well as endings. The end of the work is crowned with a bibliography.
