The activity of the regional band Jurkowianie in favour of regional education and highlanders’ region’s cultural heritage

Postrzeganie kultury regionalnej przez młodych ludzi, ich podejście do tradycji regionu a także rola szkoły i Zespołu Regionalnego „Jurkowianie” stało się inspiracją do napisania niniejszej pracy. Celem było określenie w jakim stopniu szkoła angażuje się w edukację regionalną dzieci i młodzieży w Gimnazjum w Jurkowie. Praca nawiązuje do działalności Zespołu „Jurkowianie” i analizuje jego wkład na rzecz edukacji regionalnej. W części pierwszej dokonano analizy literatury przedmiotu. Wyjaśniono definicję regionu, regionalizmu, tożsamości kulturowej oraz edukacji regionalnej. Tematem rozdziału drugiego jest dziedzictwo kulturowe i jego różne odmiany. Na podstawie literatury omówiono dziedzictwo kulturowe, pogranicze kulturowe oraz wyjaśniono jak rozumiana jest mała ojczyzna. Rozdział trzeci przybliża historie i kulturę regionu zagórzańskiego. Opisuje rozwój kultury ludowej w Jurkowie, wyjaśnia czym jest folklor i folkloryzm. Prezentuje strój regionalny kobiecy i męski w Jurkowie a także charakterystyczne dla tego regionu tradycje i obrzędy. W rozdziale tym nie mogło zabraknąć informacji na temat folkloru muzycznego Zagórzan, analizy gwary w przyśpiewkach i piosenkach. Rozdział czwarty stanowi analizę metodologiczną. Wyjaśnia cel główny pracy i cele szczegółowe oraz przybliża wybrane metody i techniki zastosowane podczas gromadzenia materiałów koniecznych do powstania niniejszej pracy.Ostatnią część pracy stanowi analiza ankiet i wywiadu, dzięki którym uzyskano odpowiedź na postawione pytanie szczegółowe. W pracy wykorzystano kroniki, księgi pamiątkowe, stare fotografie, dzięki którym możliwe było scharakteryzowanie kultury i obyczajów zespołu „Jurkowianie”. Ważnych informacji dostarczyły ankieta przeprowadzona wśród uczniów gimnazjum oraz wywiad z członkami Zespołu „Jurkowianie”.

The perception of regional culture by young people, their approach to the traditions of the region and also the role of school, and regional music band Jurkowianie became an inspiration to write this thesis. The aim was to determine to what extent the school is involved in regional education of children and youth at the middle school in Jurków. The work refers to the activities of the band Jurkowianie and examines its contribution to regional education. The first part analyses the literature. It explains the definition of the region, regionalism, cultural identity and regional education. The topic of the second chapter is the cultural heritage and its different varieties . On the basis of literature there were discussed the cultural heritage and cultural borderline. There was explained how motherland is understood. The third chapter describes the history and culture of highland region. It illustrates the development of folk culture in Jurków and explains what is folklore and folklorism. It presents the regional, female and male attire in Jurków as well as characteristic of the region's traditions and solemnities. This chapter would not be complete without including information on the highlanders' musical folklore and the analysis of vernacular in songs and short folk songs. The fourth chapter represents methodological analysis and explains both the primary and specific objectives. It also presents selected methods and techniques used in gathering materials necessary for the creation of this work. The last part of the project is the analysis of a survey and an interview which helped to receive the answers to the detailed question. The tools that were used in the thesis were chronicles, festschrift and old photographs which helped to characterised the culture and customs of Jurkowianie. The important information was provided thanks to the survey conducted among students at the middle school, and the interview with the members of the band.
