Jerzy Illg - author, editor, publisher

W pracy przedstawiłam dorobek wydawniczy Jerzego Illga, polonisty, autora, wydawcy i redaktora naczelnego Społecznego Instytutu Wydawniczego „Znak”. Celem było dokonanie analizy działalności pisarskiej i redaktorskiej z uwzględnieniem tematyki, formy i liczbyopublikowanych oraz zredagowanych tekstów, a także zbadanie funkcjonowania wydawnictwa w latach 1992-2015. Przedstawiłam historię wydawnictwa „Znak” oraz biografię redaktora. Dokonałam zestawienia publikacji autorstwa Illga (zarówno książek, jak i artykułów). Na podstawie tekstów źródłowych zbadałam powiązania redaktora z autorami, których prace publikował. Przeprowadziłam analizę przemian, do których doszło w instytucji w związku ze zmianami politycznymi w Polsce, a także wskutek objęcia przez Jerzego Illga funkcji redaktora naczelnego. Dokonałam zestawienia zmian w liczbie i zakresie tematycznym publikacji wydawnictwa po roku 1992. Ukazałam pozawydawniczą działalność redaktora, realizowaną poprzez udział w życiu kulturalnym Krakowa. W pracy wykorzystałam metody: analizy zawartości tekstu, bibliograficzną, biograficzną i statystyczną.

In my dissertation I presented the publishing output of Jerzy Illg, a Polonist, author, publisher and editor-in-chief of the Znak “Social Publishing Institute”. I aimed to analyze writing and publishing activities, including the major themes, forms and the number of written and published texts of the publishing house in the years 1992-2015.I presented the history of “Znak” and the biography of its editor. I juxtaposed Illg’s publications (both books and articles). Based on source documents, I examined the relationship between the editor and the authors whose works he published. I analyzed transformations that took place in the institution due to political changes in Poland and after Jerzy Illg’s assumption of the role of editor-in-chief. I summarized changes in Znak’s publications, mainly numerical and thematic, after the year 1992. I presented Jerzy Illg’s activities outside the publishing house which influenced the cultural life of Cracow. In my dissertation I used textual analysis and bibliographical, biographical and statistical methodologies.
