Intertextual dialogues of Lars Norén's plays Natten är dagens mor and Kaos är granne med Gud with Eugene O'Neill's drama Long Day's Journey into Night

W mojej pracy licencjackiej analizuję intertekstualne relacje pomiędzy sztukami Larsa Noréna Natten är dagens mor i Kaos är granne med Gud oraz dramatem Eugene’a O'Neilla Long Day's Journey into Night. Celem badań było omówienie powiązań między dramatami, dostrzegalnych na różnych płaszczyznach, takich jak: bohaterowie oraz tytuły sztuk, czas i miejsce akcji utworów oraz ich związki z innymi tekstami. Teoretyczną podstawą badań były literackie źródła historyczne oraz teksty teoretycznoliterackie związane z pojęciem intertekstualności. Zgodnie z koncepcją intertekstualności teksty znajdują się z sobą w nieustannym dialogu i wpływają na siebie nawzajem, a dla ich pełnego zrozumienia istotne jest poznanie różnorodnych kontekstów. W pracy opisuję, w jaki sposób Norén w swoich „dramatach rodzinnych” wchodzi w intertekstualny dialog ze sztuką Eugene’a O’Neilla.

My bachelor's thesis deals with intertextual relations between Lars Norén's plays Natten är dagens mor and Kaos är granne med Gud and Eugene O'Neill's drama Long Day's Journey into Night. The aim of the study has been to examine the mutual relations of the plays on various levels, including connections between the characters, the titles, the settings and the plays’ dialogues with other texts. The theoretical basis for the thesis is literary sources that are linked to the concept of intertextuality. Intertextuality refers to the fact that literary works are in constant dialogue with each other and that they are influenced by one another. The thesis shows that it is relevant for the understanding of the text to be aware of the intertextual contexts and that Norén in his family dramas clearly enters into dialogue with Eugene O'Neill's dramas.
