Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen jest z pewnością jedną z najważniejszychprzedstawicielek kultury portugalskiej. Jeszcze za życia autorki jej sława wykroczyła poza granice Półwyspu Iberyjskiego, a dzięki pracy Gabriela Borowskiego niedawno dotarła również na polski rynek wydawniczy. Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest próba oceny wartości polskiego tłumaczenia wierszy zawartych w antologii Oto ja. Wiersze wybrane.Podczas analizy zostaną uwydatnione zarówno rozbieżności względem oryginału, jak i kreatywne sposoby rozwiązania problemów napotkanych w toku procesu translatorskiego. Aby to osiągnąć, badania opierają się na teorii krytyki przekładu według Antoinego Bermana, na problemie strategii przekładu w ujęciu Jerzego Brzozowskiego oraz na pojęciu „znaczeniowości" komentowanym przez Mária Laranjeirę.

Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen is unquestionably one of the most emblematic personalities in Portuguese culture. Her reputation spread beyond the borders of the Iberian Peninsula and, thanks to the translation efforts of Gabriel Borowski, has recently reached the Polish publishing market. The main aim of this study is the evaluation of the Polishtranslation of the poems included in the anthology Oto ja. Wiersze wybrane. The analysis included in the thesis not only focuses on the dissonances with regard to the original source, but also highlights the creative solutions used to solve translation problems. The study is based on Antoine Berman’s theory of translation criticism, the problem of translation strategies from Jerzy Brzozowski’s perspective, and the concept of significance by MárioLaranjeira.

Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen indubitavelmente é uma das personalidades mais emblemáticas da cultura portuguesa. O seu renome espalhou-se, ainda durante a vida da autora, fora das fronteiras da Península Ibérica, chegando recentemente, graças ao esforço tradutório de Gabriel Borowski, ao mercado editorial polaco. O objetivo principal do presenteestudo concentra-se na tentativa de avaliação do mérito da tradução polaca de poemas incluídos na antologia Oto ja. Wiersze wybrane, evidenciando tanto as dissonâncias com respeito ao original, quanto as soluções criativas utilizadas para resolver os problemas de tradução. Para o conseguir, a dissertação baseia-se na teoria da crítica de tradução de Antoine Berman, na questão de estratégias de tradução, na perspetiva de Jerzy Brzozowski, e noconceito de significância de Mário Laranjeira.
