DRACULA W POLSCE – ANALIZA STYLISTYCZNA PRZEKŁADÓW POWIEŚCI BRAMA STOKERA

Głównym celem pracy jest analiza fenomenu powieści Brama Stokera pt. „Dracula” w kulturze zachodniej, a także porównanie fragmentów trzech polskich przekładów tejże powieści w tłumaczeniu Dariusza Ściepury, Grzegorza Kuli oraz Marka Króla. Pierwszy rozdział pracy poświęcony jest wampirom i ich wpływie na kulturę, inspiracjom Brama Stokera oraz adaptacjom „Draculi”, zarówno filmowym jak i literackim. W drugim rozdziale przedstawiono pojęcia, które zostaną użyte podczas analizy stylistycznej z wykorzystaniem elementów poetyki kognitywnej. Trzeci rozdział poświęcony jest „Draculi” w Polsce – analizie Polskich okładek powieści oraz porównaniu przekładów z oryginałem w celu zbadania strategii stylistycznych stosowanych przez tłumaczy.

The thesis aims to discuss the cultural phenomenon of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and analyze the three renditions of the novel: Dariusz Ściepuro’s, Grzegorz Kula’s and Marek Król’s. The first chapter of the thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the evolution of vampire motif in the world culture, the sources of Bram Stoker’s inspiration and screen and literary adaptations of Dracula. The purpose of the second chapter is to introduce the concepts used in a stylistic analysis with elements of cognitive poetic study. The last, third chapter presents Dracula in Poland – it contains an analysis of the covers of the novel and a comparison of eight fragments of the three translations with the source text aimed at investigating the stylistic strategies used by the translators.
