The development of Latin American muralismo on the example of Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Chicano murals in United States of America

Celem niniejszej pracy jest scharakteryzowanie fenomenu latynoamerykańskiego muralismo na tle historycznych i społecznych wydarzeń omawianych państw, głównie w XX wieku. Praca porusza także temat pochodzenia murali, ich odmiany oraz zróżnicowanie, jak i wspólną cechę, którą jest podkreślanie i budowanie swojej tożsamości poprzez sztukę na murach.Każdy z rozdziałów poświęcony jest innemu latynoskiemu państwu wraz z muralismo jakie w nim ewoluowało. I tak pierwszy rozdział skupia się na treści teoretycznej przedstawiającej zjawisko coraz popularniejszego malowania na murach oraz główne zasady i okoliczności jego powstawania. Drugi rozdział poświęcony jest Meksykowi oraz najpopularniejszym twórcom muralismo, którzy byli min. inspiracją dla artystów kolejnych państw, przedstawionych w rozdziale trzecim, czwartym i piątym.

The purpose of present M.A. thesis is to characterize the phenomenon of Latin American muralismo on the background of the historical and social movements and moments of the discussed country. The work also touches on the origin of the murals, their variety and diversity, as well as a common feature, which is to emphasize and build an identity through art on the walls. Each chapter is devoted to another latin country with muralismo which it evolved. And so the first chapter focuses on the theoretical content depicting the increasingly popular phenomenon of painting on the walls and the main principles and the circumstances of its creation. The second chapter is devoted to Mexico and most popular authors of muralismo who were also the inspiration for artists of successive states, presented in chapter three, four and five.
