Self- esteem of women with physical disabilities and their attitude towards marriage and motherhood.

W niniejszej pracy została przedstawiona kwestia samooceny oraz postaw w stosunku do małżeństwa i macierzyństwa kobiet niepełnosprawnych fizycznie. Badania zamieszczone w pracy miały formę analizy przypadku. Na podstawie wywiadu oraz wypełnionych kwestionariuszy psychologicznych, zostały opisane czynniki związane z samooceną oraz postawami w stosunku do małżeństwa i macierzyństwa badanych kobiet. Wyniki badań mogą świadczyć o tym, że niepełnosprawność fizyczna wiąże się z trudnościami w zakresie samooceny. Samoocena badanych kobiet powiązana jest z: kontaktami społecznymi, postawami rodziców badanych oraz relacjami panującymi w ich rodzinach, kwestiami sensu i stylu życia, a także konfliktami emocjonalnymi. Postawy badanych w stosunku do macierzyństwa i małżeństwa są najczęściej pozytywne - ale wiążą się z lękiem, dotyczącym tego, że niepełnosprawność będzie dla nich przeszkodą w założeniu rodziny.

The aim of this thesis is to submit self- esteem issues of women with physical disabilities and their attitude towards marriage and motherhood. The research were made based on case studies model. Factors relating to the self-esteem issues and attitude toward marriage and motherhood of the women, were described based on interviews and completed psychological questionnaires.The results of research and studies may confirm that, physical disability is strictly connected with difficulties in the area of self-esteem. Self esteem of the women with physical disabilities is connected with: social contacts, relationships with parents and with all families, sense of life and lifestyle issues and what’s more an emotional conflicts. Women with physical disabilities have usually positive attitude towards marriage and motherhood, but it is related at the same time with anxiety, that their disability may be an obstacle to start a family.
